Date Calculator: how it works
Count the days between two dates, including a breakdown into years, months and days, weeks, and business days (Monday to Friday). You can also add or subtract days from a date, handy for notice periods, settlement dates and deadlines.
Business days skip weekends and NSW public holidays, useful for settlement periods and notice periods.
By default the end date isn't counted (1 Jan to 2 Jan is 1 day). Tick “Include the end date” to count both.
Date Calculator FAQs
Are public holidays excluded from business days?
Yes, NSW statewide public holidays for 2026 and 2027 are excluded when the box is ticked. Local public holidays and the August Bank Holiday aren't included, and other states' holidays differ.
Does daylight saving affect the count?
No. Dates are counted as whole calendar days, so daylight saving changes don't cause off-by-one errors.
